Blue Islands announce Jersey flights

Blue Islands has announced that it will launch a new twice daily commuter service between Jersey and London City Airport on April 18. Weekday flights will take off from Jersey at 07:25 and at 17:15, with return flights from London City at 09:15 and at 19:05. A flight will operate on Sunday evenings at the same times as the evening weekday service.
Chairman of the airline, Derek Coates, says the new route will allow passengers to avoid the hassle, transfer times and long check in times of Gatwick. He said: ‘London City is a dream airport, with a check in time of 20 minutes. This new service means Jersey businessmen can make the most of a day trip to London. Its also great for colleagues in London who want a full day in Jersey and appreciates that time is money.’
The route will be serviced by a new ATR 42-500 series aircraft, specifically purchased for the route and seating up to 48 passengers. The same aircraft will fly to Geneva or Zurich in the middle of the day from Jersey.
