Airport reopened after WWII bomb scare
04.06.08
Flights at London City Airport were disrupted yesterday after the discovery of a World War II bomb nearby. They resumed in the early evening, but delays continued into the late evening.
The bomb was found in Stratford on the site for the 2012 London Olympics on Tuesday afternoon. An enforced air exclusion zone was set up and flights were cancelled, delayed or diverted for more than two hours, before the airport reopened shortly after 18:00.
