Fog causes early morning delays and cancellations

London City Airport suffered flight delays and cancellations yesterday morning due to fog. Around 20 flights were delayed and 4 incoming aircraft were diverted to other airports, meaning that the outward flight from London City was cancelled.
Operations were restored by 11:00 and the backlog was quickly cleared. The airport, which is close to the new docklands financial centre and has a direct link to London's more traditional financial district, is primarily used by business travellers flying with airlines including Lufthansa, BA, SAS, Austrian, VLM and Air France CityJet.
