BA axe Dublin route
04.03.09
British Airways has axed its London City Airport - Dublin route, which was only launched in June last year. The cancellation was not announced, however the last flights on the three-times-daily service operated on Monday (March 2).
The airline said the decision to axe the route was made due to lack of aircraft and a recent reduced uptake in flights. BA City Flyer was already operating with a reduced fleet when a RJ100, one of 12 aircraft based at London City, had an emergency landing last month.
BA is rebooking passengers who were due to fly between March 2 and 28 on its services from Gatwick to Dublin. Codeshare partner Aer Lingus will reaccommodate passengers booked to travel from March 29 onwards on its flights from Heathrow to Dublin.
