SkyWork put larger planes on Bern flights
07.04.11
Just a week after SkyWork Airlines launched daily flights between London City Airport and its home base of Bern, the Swiss airline is using a larger aircraft on the service. The route was initially operated using 31-seat Dornier 328 aircraft, but from 4 April a 70-seat Bombardier Q400 quiet turboprop is now the mainstay aircraft on the route.
A spokesman for the airline said it is delighted with the reaction to the latest addition to its route network. He said: ‘Forward bookings are very strong, especially for Easter, and we have been extremely pleased with how the market has responded so positively to this service.’ He added that the split of traffic is currently 60% leisure, 40% business.
From 5 September SkyWork will offer 11 flights a week on the route, allowing passengers to make day returns Monday to Friday. Tickets are available to book at www.flyskywork.com with lead in web fares start at CHF79 (£52 pounds) each way.
