09.03.09
Air Southwest has announced that it will launch of a twice daily service to London City Airport from both Plymouth and Newquay airports. The new route will take off on April 20, with flight times that give South West business travellers a full day in the capital.
The flights will further strengthen Air Southwest's route network from Newquay, where it is already the largest operator. They will also complement Air Southwest's four times daily Gatwick service, which operates seven days a week.
Peter Davies, managing director of Air Southwest, said: ‘This new London City service will revolutionise air travel between Devon and Cornwall and the capital. We expect it to be very popular with business travellers and have timed the flights to fit with busy working lives.'
‘Day-return rail travel to London is costly and time-consuming. With our new London City service our passengers will save hours of travelling time, with our great value fares. It's also ideal for a short-break in the Capital, and will help to increase inbound tourism to both Devon and Cornwall.’
