Airport announce terminal improvements plan

London City Airport will carry out a multi-million pound reconfiguration of its terminal next year. Once complete next, it will provide a significantly enlarged passenger search area as well as additional space for passengers in the departure lounge.
Melanie Burnley, the airport's director terminal services, said: ‘We are introducing additional security lanes to respond to the change in passenger behaviour. A greater use of online check-in is resulting in less use of traditional check-in desks, with more passengers are heading straight to security upon arrival at the airport. We need to adjust our facilities to allow for this.’
