ERA award for London City
12.10.08
London City Airport has won the European Regions Airline Association (ERA) Airport Achievement Award for 2008/09. Richard Gooding, Managing Director of the Docklands hub, was presented with the trophy at the association’s annual assembly awards dinner in Manchester by Alisdair Wright, Sales Director of award sponsor, SITA.
The judges said the airport’s 24% passenger growth in 2007, the efficiency of its internal planning and service delivery processes that allow it to operate at 97% of its permitted capacity, its well structured partnerships with airline customers and its service-oriented approach to passengers as key features of its success.
The ERA Airport Achievement Award recognises an achievement or achievements that have had a positive impact on intra-European air transport operations. It is judged by a panel of industry experts from throughout Europe. London City Airport has previously won the ERA Airport of the Year Award in 2003 and the ERA Palme d’Or Honour for Sustained Excellence in 2004.
