Flight delays continue
13.08.08
Passengers using London City Airport are still suffering from delays, despite a £30mi investment aimed at solving the problem, the Times reports. Figures released by the Civil Aviation Authority this week showed that almost two in every five flights from the Docklands hub are delayed by more than 15 minutes.
The average delay for flights from the airport was 17 minutes in the second quarter, a measure that has crept up every year for the past five. However, an airport spokeswoman said: 'The investment in additional capacity was brought on stream recently and has seen an improvement on the percentage of delays at London City Airport. As the new stands only came into operation on May 6, we expect to continue to see a marked improvement in the next quarter.’
