Joint London City and Manchester airport demo

Members of Stop Expansion at Manchester Airport are joining Fight the Flights at London City Airport to stage a joint demonstration at both airports. They will hold a morning protest outside London City Airport, before boarding an open-top double-decker red bus to raise awareness of their anti-expansion message around the capital.
The protesters, who are also calling for an end to domestic flights and instead urging people to ‘take the train, not plane’, will then catch a train to Manchester to voice their opposition to plans to bulldoze two family homes on Hasty Lane, Ringway, to make way for a cargo unit at Manchester Airport. The event, on Saturday, September 4, will culminate in a party on Hasty Lane with residents who stand to lose their homes.
