Airport gets clean air certificate

London City Airport has announced that, following a comprehensive onsite survey carried out by Green Air Monitoring, it has been awarded a certificate of compliance for indoor air quality for its terminal building. The news comes after a union claimed recently that the terminal was polluted with plane fumes, and this was affecting the health of staff and passengers.
The airport said that Green Air Monitoring's survey showed that none of the components associated with contamination from aircraft or vehicle exhausts have affected the airport’s facility. Both nitrogen oxide and carbon monoxide levels were well below the workplace exposure limits, and the findings demonstrate that London City Airport is fully compliant with air quality limits for the workplace.
