IOM want quick return of London City route
18.05.08
A link to London City Airport from the Isle of Man is the priority after the collapse of EuroManx, the island's Treasury Minister, Allan Bell, said. The airline, which went into receivership on May 9, ran the only direct service between the IOM and the Docklands airport.
Whilst Mr Bell believes other airlines will fill in the gaps left by the former airline's other routes to Belfast, Liverpool and Manchester, he believes that it is vital for the island's business community to re-establish a link to London City.
Mr Bell said: 'We need to work other airlines to ensure that this link back to London City Airport is re-established as quickly as we possibly can. I do know that the Department of Transport is talking to airlines and some tentative proposals have been made. I am hopeful in the not too distant future we will be able to fill that particular gap.’
