London City expansion 'will benefit homeowners'
19.01.08
The expansion of London City Airport should be of little concern to local homeowners, according to the property website Buy Association. The website says that, as the airport only handles smaller aircraft, most buyers will not be put off, whereas improvements to the local transport infrastructure is helping to boost house prices.
Paul Collins, Buy Association spokesman, said: 'London City is very much a business airport so it's only really private jets and smaller aircrafts. The disruption is fairly minimal and the noise isn't that bad.'
'The transport is good, particularly in that part of London. You've got the new developments going into the Olympics site, you've got the Docklands Light Railway extending down to Woolwich as well. The transport infrastructure in the area is improving hugely, so it's more of an advantage than a bad thing.'
