BA plane problem closes airport

The runway at London City Airport was closed for almost an hour yesterday after a BA plane flying in from Edinburgh suffered ‘a minor technical fault’ as it landed. It was unable to clear the runway as normal and it was therefore shut from 08:30 until 09:25.
An airport spokesman said all passengers safely disembarked the aircraft as normal and the aircraft was towed to its stand. Two arriving Air France CityJet planes and two BA planes were diverted to other airports whilst the runway was closed.
