Airport closed after emergency

The runway at London City Airport has been closed after the tyres burst on an plane as it landed this morning. The airport is currently closed to both arrivals and departures, with no information on when it might reopen.
The Air France 146 jet got into difficulties at 08:40 this morning when it tried to land at the airport. Around 100 passengers and 5 crew on board the plane at the time disembarked safely and there are no reports of injuries. Emergency crews attended the scene but were stood down an hour later.
A spokesman for the airport said: 'We recommend all passengers travelling via London City Airport today to contact their airlines directly for further travel information.'
