Aer Arann to launch Isle of Man flights
23.11.08
Aer Arann is to begin flying between the Isle of Man and London City Airport next year. The Irish regional airline will launch the route on January 19.
The Isle of Man has had just one flight a day to London City (operated by VLM) since the failure of EuroManx in May. Aer Arann will restore the weekday frequency to its previous four flights a day, providing morning and evening services to enable Isle of Man travellers to spend a full day in the capital.
Its three Aer Arann flights will be operated using a 72-seat ATR72-500, pending the aircraft’s certification. The airline is working with the manufacturer, ATR, the CAA and London City Airport to have the new aircraft type certified to use the Docklands airport.
