Builders unhappy after page 3 posters banned
30.12.07
According to the Daily Star, builders at London City Airport are up in arms because the traditional 'wallpaper' in their canteen has been banned. The newspaper reports that 'killjoy bosses' have ordered them to remove girlie posters from their canteen after the 'PC plonkers' ruled that the topless shots were offensive.
The builders, working an extension at the airport, were even told they face punishment if they put up posters to replace those removed by bosses. One told the newspaper: 'It’s outrageous. This is hard graft we’re doing here, working long, hard hours. All we want is to go and have a cup of tea, put our feet up and enjoy the sight of a pretty girl. Everyone is really down about it.'
A spokesman for Carillion, who are in charge of the site, told the newspaper: 'Posters of this kind are not appropriate on a modern construction site. We do not advocate the display of this kind of material, as we do not wish to cause offence.'
