Airport and staff raise £35,000 for charity
31.12.07
London City Airport and its staff have raised £35,000 in 2007 for Richard House Children's Hospice. Through a variety of fundraising efforts - including the airport's popular summer Fun Day - it raised the money to help fund London's first hospice dedicated to life-limited children and young adults.
The cheque was presented to Viv Talbot, manager at Richard House, by Richard Gooding, chief executive of London City Airport. Mr. Gooding said: 'This cheque is a result of everyone's hard work and it is a privilege for us to offer the money to such a worthy cause.'
Preparations have already begun for next year's Fun Day, which will take place on July 5, and a number of other fund raising events. Richard House will once again be the nominated beneficiary of all funds raised.
